Thiruvananthapuram : Arrangements are in place for college reopening on 4th of October, said the Minister For Higher Studies, R Bindu. An online meeting attended by heads of higher education establishments, was convened on Thursday. A consensus was arrived on running classes at half-capacities on alternate week days, the minister said.
Classes shall be held only for students doing their final year course at each institution. The classrooms shall be sanitised well before the students step into the campus. Services for disinfecting of classrooms may be availed from local self bodies and voluntary organisations, the minister said.
All students seeking to attend classes should have taken at least one dose of Covid vaccine. Special vaccination drive shall be organised around educational institutions for the purpose. The Health Department will make necessary arrangements toward this, said Health Minister Veena George. The institutional heads were instructed to prepare list of students who aren’t inoculated at all. The college community should collectively cooperate on this front, said Minister R Bindu.
