Murders Triggered By Communal Politics; Conspirators Shall Booked Too

Special CorrespondentUpdated: Saturday Dec 25, 2021

Thiruvananthapuram : In all murders committed  in recent past, police will now book conspirators behind scenes, that is, over and above those directly involved. Data is  being collected on people who might have served as accessories to murders by providing the perpetrators vehicles,  hide-outs, mobiles etc to help with the crime or cover-up.

Intelligence inputs suggest there are 1364 RSS, SDPI suicide assailants in the state. Of them, those considered ‘dangerous’  have been put on surveillance. Also, police will round up those with pending warrants and put them behind bars and, look up those on bail for possible bail violations.

Source of finance to criminal elements  shall be sealed. Lists will become drawn districtwise, on persons with history of criminal cases. All of those cases shall be revived for action. Law and Order ADGP and Range IGs will submit weekly reports on follow-up action in this regard. Those inciting communal passions over social media shall be booked. Group administrators who allow such hates shall be arrainged.

Hunt for assailants of SDPI State Secretary Shan and BJP leader Ranjit, were carried out with borders sealed to prevent escape. At places vulnerable to conflict in the districts, police picketing and night patrolling has been intensified. Checks are upped  on two-wheelers too. List of active criminals has been drawn and surveillance heightened. All measures combined has prevented spread of violence that would otherwise have followed the quick-paced twin murders with communal overtones.
