Kochi: : KPCC President Mullappaly Ramachandran repudiated Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala’s opinion to avoid probe into  new revelations and instead called for a comprehensive investigations into the Solar scam. Mullappaly clarified his take at the “Meet The Press” event addressing the media.

Based on matters divulged by Sharanya Manoj, probe should extend to  the two MLAs in question. Investigations should be carried out by an agency other than the state Vigilance, said Mullappaly. When asked about charges faced by  VK Ebrahimkunju and MC Kamaruddin, Mullappaly responded saying whosoever guilty must undergo  punishment. Congress stand against corruption should not be diluted. Let investigations proceed, said Mullappaly.

Regarding  pact with Jamaate-e-Islaimi, Mullappaly said Congress did not indulge in any talks or ties with the outfit.  If there be regional interactions, it is purely internal matter  of allied parties, he added. On the gold smuggling case, Mullappaly said the union minister V Muraleedharan’s responses on the case is inappropriate. If there is something he wishes to divulge, he should do that openly, said Mullapally.

Sharavana Manoj’s account clarifies Oomen Chandy’s innocence, he said, adding that, more things will come out in days ahead. On K-Rail, Chennithala said the govt should back out from the project.
