Congress Animosity Towards Secular Parties Only ; MM Hassan Shares Dais With SDPI

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Congress leaders who declare ban on cooperating with secular parties for joint-protests against CAA, curiously have no qualms about gracing events hosted by terror outfits and openly announcing  support for them. The incident took place at Thiruvananthapuram’s  Attakulangara on Tuesday,  where former KPCC President MM Hassan became one of the key speakers at an event titled Ambedkar Square, organized by SDPI.

Hassan was not alone representing the clan. Rather,  several KPCC leaders including General Secretary Manacaud Suresh were guests at the function. The episode snowballed on social media with commenters saying it was Congress’s hopelessness that forced it to seek company of radical elements,  instead of joining hands with secular fronts.

Incidentally, MM Hassan’s trip to the communal venue comes even as Opposition falsely accuses LDF of having ties with the SDPI – a propaganda UDF spreads both inside and outside the Assembly. At a time when secular parties should be working together to mitigate threats posed by RSS, Congress running off to appease communal bodies might be motivated by unholy alliance  for panchayat election gains, say critics.
