Kozhikode: Party workers who wrote to Mullappally Ramachandran expressing displeasure over alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami’s Welfare  Party, have been ousted from Congress.

Casualties to the party’s disciplinary action include former Mukkam mandala president NP Shamsudeen, booth presient KC moosa Kuruthodath and rebel candidate from ward-10 Prasad Chenathodikayil. DCC president U Rajeev announced the dismissals.

The ouster of Congress workers in Mullappally’s own hometown comes even as he claims the party has no links with the Welfare Party. Mukkam president and president at ward-126, KC Moosa, had shot the letter to Mullappally,  urging to keep out of any likely alignment with the Welfare party.

The dismissals took place soon after local body elections concluded on Monday. These ousters should be examined, said Mullappally while K. Muraleedharan MP downplayed the development saying such dismissals were routine.
