Alappuzha :Another hoax on post-poll violence on part accusing the Left crumbled after it became known that Congress booth agent in Kayamkulam was not injured during political face-off and that Soman - currently under treatment for wounds - was hurt in family feud that got physical. His wife Rajalakshmi revealed facts behind the alleged “attack” emphasising there was no politics involved.
Fake news did rounds claiming Soman, the Congress agent at booth no. 135 from Puthukatt Wadakekkara was attacked by DYFI workers on the polling day - a claim his wife Rajalakshmi and daughter Anila both insisted is wrong.
Upon reaching home late Tuesday evening after polling ended, Soman got into argument with his son, whom he had locked up in a room. Wordy fight on room-keys between Soman and son soon became physical . Amid this, Soman fell onto the barbed fence hurting himself when he ran after Rajalakshmi to beat and chase her away, she said. . Soon, Congress workers who learnt of the fight, turned the whole thing into a political incident, accusing DYFI workers for the ‘violent attack’, said Rajalakshmi. Her account was caught on tape and released on socila media.
