Kozhikode : Without spelling a clear stand on Uniform Civil Coode, the Congress is playing hide-and-seek on the issue, Minister PA Muhammad Riyas. Whenever there’s need to take a definite stand on religious or communal issues, Congress has always stuck to this approach. Their strategy at all times is to support all communal agenda and help grow religious fanatics on either side. This is why Congress is crumbling at organisational level.
Congress never took a firm stand on the Citizenship Amendment Act. In 1992, when Babri Masjid was pulled down, Narasimha turned blind eye and facilitated it. In all these situations, BJP did all it can to undermine the strong and secular stance the Left in Kerala upheld. Congress aims to stand by BJP in order to to weaken Left.
Ordinary Congress workers who do not wish for India to become a religious state are in deep despair and dilemma. This will invariably reflect in the Kerala politics of the future, the minister said.
