Kalpetta : Congress’s march in Wayanad went a step too far when they targeted Deshabhimani office in Kalpetta for attack, pelting stones and attempting to barge into the building shouting abuses. The bizarre incident took place at 4.45 Saturday evening.
The Congress march comprised roughly 50 party workers who were protesting attack on MP Rahul Gandhi’s office in Wayanad yesterday. The march suddenly turn took a violent turn with several of the demonstrators rushing toward the Deshabhimani office building shouting and agitated. The office is housed on rented property and shortly into the attack, the house owner who lived on the ground floor of the building ran out panicky with her kids after which the miscreants backed away.
The protest was helmed by Kalpetta Block Panchayat member. A section of miscreants deflected from the rally passing the highway and headed toward Deshabhimani office sitated on Palli Thaze Road and started at first with throwing stones at the building, much of which hit the walls and house on the lower storey.
