Kanjathode: The case of involving alleged conspiracy by Congress leaders to murder MP Rajmohan Unnithan during his train journey has been handed over to the Railway Police. The MP lodged complaint with the district police chief alleging murder attempt by assailants who barged into the compartment shouting abuses and physically assaulting him.
Named as assailants in the complaint are NRI Congress leader Padmarajan, Block Congress secretary Anil Avshunadi and Youth Congress worker Baviraj. The incident took place two weeks back while the MP was preparing to leave for Kozhikode to catch a plane from airport there. While seated in the train at Neeleswaram, the Congress leaders attacked him, said the MP in his complaint.
The culprits were nabbed at the time but later released on bail. The present case of attempt to murder has been registered after the MP once again demanded action on the incident.
