Thiruvananthapuram: : The state recorded 4545 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to 7,86,398 Total recoveries up to now figures at 7,43,467. A total of 64,179 persons remain under treatment currently.
The new infections today include 78 cases pertaining to travelers from states outside and 42 health workers. The testing positivity rate today figured at 9.95 %. Also 3 returnees from UK were diagnosed with covid in the past 24 hours taking the UK-oriented caseload so far to 53.
Deaths: There were 23 covid deaths confirmed during the day raising the toll so far to 3302.

Quarantine: A total of 2,03,935 people are under observation currently of whom, 10,954 remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 1,92,981 are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 1155 people were newly admitted into hospitals during today for observation purposes. Presently 64,17 people remain under treatment in various hospitals across the state.
Hotspots: There were 3 new hotspots declared today, while 1 area was taken off the list. Total hotspots currently in the state : 441.
