Thiruvananthapuram: The state recorded 6004 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to 7,95,512 Total recoveries up to now figures at 7,56,817. A total of 65,373 persons remain under treatment currently.
The new infections today include 73 cases pertaining to travelers from states outside and 53 health workers. The testing positivity rate today figured at 8.69%. Also 1 returnee from UK was diagnosed with covid in the past 24 hours taking the UK-oriented caseload so far to 56.
There were 26 covid deaths confirmed during the day raising the toll so far to 3373.

Testing: 86,20,873 samples have been subject to testing in the pandemic so far, - up by 69,081 in the past 24 hours.
Quarantine: A total of 2,00,259 people are under observation currently of whom 10,709 remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 1,89,500 are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 1333 people were newly admitted into hospitals during today for observation purposes. Presently 65,373 people remain under treatment in various hospitals across the state.
Hotspots: There were 2 new hotspots declared today, while 11 areas were taken off the list. Total hotspots currently in the state : 427.
