Thiruvananthapuram :: The state recorded 6169 fresh Covid-19 cases today taking the total for confirmed cases so far in the pandemic to 7,09,876. There were 5349 contact infections reported during the day, of which the virus source to 662 cases remains untraced. On other data for the day, there were 22 covid deaths and 4808 recoveries. With this, state death-toll in the pandemic rose to 2892 and recoveries to 6,55,644. A total of 62,802 persons remain under treatment currently.
The new infections today include 98 cases pertaining to travelers from states outside and 60 health workers.

Testing: 75,08,489 samples have been subject to testing in the pandemic so far, - up by 61,437 in the past 24 hours.
Quarantine: A total of 2,74.206 people are under observation currently of whom, 13,561 remain quarantined various hospitals and the remaining 2,60,645 are being monitored in their homes/institutions. 62,802 people were newly admitted into hospitals during today for observation purposes. Presently _ people remain under treatment in various hospitals across the state.
Hotspots: There were 9 new hotspots declared today, while 7 areas were taken off the list. Total hotspots currently in the state : 460.
