Kannur: As Covid-19 tightens grip once again, we might have to move back to original restrictions, said Health Minister KK Shailaja. We need to be more alert in coming days. Self-restraint is the key. Gatherings should be reduced as much as possible. When taking part in gatherings, restrictions must be observed, said the minister.
With polls now over, Covid cases are likely to surge. Covid numbers had spiked post local body elections too albeit the spread was reined in with focused interventions. Covid situation is set to worsen. In line with CM’s instructions, all departments have been instructed to take precautionary measures.
Instructions have also been issued to make added arrangements should patient numbers get higher. Post the polls, the surge in infections is higher in Kannur compared to other districts. All authorities have been advised to take necessary steps, said the minister.
