THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Covid scenario in Kasaragod is set to be rather grim, warned Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday. The number of confirmed cases have risen to 9, calling for tight restrictions in the district, the minister said
Offices in Kasaragod will remain shut for one week and places of worship for two. Shops shall remain open only from 11 am to 5 pm everyday, said CM. Six persons tested positive for Covid on Friday. Of them, two persons were diagnosed with the infection earlier, two are relatives of these persons and the remaining two are travelers from Dubai.
The overhanging risk something Kasaragod brought on to itself by downplaying preventive measures. The unrestrained movements of an infected person recently , is bewildering. Arriving on 11th at Karipur airport, the man lodged himself there for the day and traveled to Kozhikode next morning. Then boarding a train from that point, he headed for his home in Kasaragod. Later he attends marriage function, clubs and football tournaments apart from actively participating in a private ceremony held at home. These acts could spell serious consequences for the region, said CM.
