KUTTANAD : 54 year-old Jose Thomas, a CPI(M) Area Committee member from Kuttanad, was attacked by two bike-borne miscreants early this morning.
The duo accosted Jose as he walked towards his farm, hacking him on the left hand and legs with a sword. The CPI(M) leader, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to Matha hospital in Kottayam.
The identities of the attackers is not clear. Police have begun their probe into the incident.
