Kothamangalam : KPCC President K Sudhakaran’s remarks at press conference yesterday makes it amply clear that Congress protest, against 2-rupee cess on petrol for sustaining social security pension, has failed miserably, said CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan.
Public rejected the protest in toto, lamented Sudhakaran to the press. Given that, at least the media should take up this issue, he urged. Despite our agitations, the Chief Minister walks around Kerala with head held high. To stop that, the media must cooperate with the Opposition and help to set people out against the LDF government in Kerala, Sudhakaran pleaded.
Even when we supported a fake news fabrication from prominent news channel both inside and outside the Legislative Assembly, the neglect for our protest by the media is cruel, said Sudhakaran. He then quickly offset that criticism to say, the media can’t be blamed for failure of our protest.
The public are willing to bear the additional cess for sake of helping the weaker sections of society and sustaining social welfare pensions. The frustration toward this public acceptance lurks beneath Sudhakaran’s words. This reality should dawn on KPCC at least now and it must roll back protest. said MV Govindan.
The failure of protest shows how even people inside his Party are mistrustful of Sudhakaran - his attempt to destroy Kerala’s tradition of secular democracy and steer Congress into RSS fold. To justify his RSS bond, Sudhakaran is even attempting to drape Nehru in saffron. The failure of protest is proof that people repel this dirty kind of politics, said MV Govindan at the press meet during Janakeeya Prathirodha Jatha(People's Resistance Rally) in Kothmangalam.
