Thrissur : Seven BJP workers were pronounced guilty in the murder of CPI(M) worker Chembnezhthu Raju. The verdict handed by Thrissur First Additional Sessions Judge PN Vinod named the first six accused and the 9th as guilty of murder.
The crime dates back to 2006, 24 September. On the day, Raju and wife stayed back at a relative’s house after customary dinner. Late that night, the gang of RSS-BJP men pried open the roof tiles and made their way into the couple’s room hacking Raju multiple times. Raju eventually died. His wife Sandhya and the relative sustained wounds while attempting to save Raju.
Pronounced guilty in the crime are : Rateesj )35), Padinjare Vembaloor Kaikapath Giresh(42), SN Puram Kadapruma Palumuri resient Manoj(44), Padinjare Vembaloor Vazhoor residen Ranjith(31), SM Puram Babikav Perngthr resident Surendran, SN Puram Bazardesham Anangot Kishan(40) and Puvathukav Thoppil Shaji(39).
