March Against Airline Fare Hike: T. V. Rajesh MP, Muhammad Riyas Remanded

Kozhikode:   The court on Tuesday remanded 3 CPI(M) leaders in connection  a  march taken out to Air India office, in protest of air fare hikes. Those remanded by Ist Class Magistrate(4) V Vinod to are CPI(M) State committee member PA Muhammad Riyas, MP T.V. Rajesh and CP(M) District Committee member KK Dineshan.

The case date backs to September 2010 when DYFI led a protest march to Air India office in Kozhikode. Nadacauv police had mounted charges of wrecking the office and vandalising public property in the incident. The leaders appeared in court this morning following warrant and   were remanded to a 16-day judicial custody.

TV Rajesh was CPI(M) state secretary at that time and TV Rajesh, then an MLA, had inaugurated the march. Muhammad Riyas,  was DYFI state joint secretary and KK Dineshan was the district secretary. The court had cleared M Girish of charges early on. Bail applications would be submitted on Wednesday, said Advocate PV Hari, who appeared for the leaders.
