Kannur : The Red flag will unfurl Tuesday in prelude to Party Congress commencing tomorrow in the memorial land of martyrdom, popular struggles and symbol of valor, Kannur. Party Congress will proclaim guidelines to end the ruthless BJPrule and the country is closely watching to see what political decisions will come about at the conclave. Kannur that played crucial role in spread of communism, is all ready to host the historic event. The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, who is also the chairman to Welcome Committee will unfurl the Red Flag at AKG Nagar, Jawahar Stadium - the public meeting venue, today evening.
The delegates meeting will be held in specially arranged space in premises of the academy named after EK Nayanar. CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury will inaugurate Party Congress in the morning, Wednesday. CPI General Secretary D Raja will extend felicitations.
A total of 815 delegates comprising representatives, political analysts and Central Committee members will take part in the Congress. Delegates and leaders from various states have begun arriving. Team from Gujarat reached Kannur Monday morning. Other delegates including team from Bengal reached early this morning(Tuesday). Replete with blood-red flags, red decors and posters of communist icons, Kannur in entirety has transformed into the Party Congress stage. The flag to be hoisted for Party Congress took off in procession from Punnapra-Wayalar and the flagpole procession from Kayyur, both of which will arrive in Kannur Tuesday morning.
The flagpole procession led by PK Sreemathi from the land of martyrs, Kayyur, embarked on its journey Tuesday evening inaugurated by Central Committee member Minster MV Govindan. At the ceremony, Central Committee member P Karunakaran handed the flagpole to PK Sreemathi. The flagpole was also received by Jatha manager KP Satheesh Chandran and other leaders. Kasaragod District Secretary MV Balakrishnan presided at the inaugural. M Rajagopalan MLA delivered the welcome note.

Passing across receptions at centres in Kasaragod and Kannur, the processions escorted by red volunteers will reach the venue by 5 pm, Tuesday evening. The flag procession led by State Secretariat member M Swaraj will enter Kannur district early in the day on Tuesdayy.
