Thiruvananthapuram : No criticising governor - that’s the warning  Governor Arif Mohammad Khan rang out loud on  his official twitter handle, with threats of repealing minister post should anyone disobey.

In his tweet gotten posted by PRO, the Governor says the Chief Minister and ministers have rights to advise the Governor. However, criticising Governor is a differnt story that could invite action including cancellation of minister post.

Backdrop : Using  powers as Chancellor, the Governor had removed 15 nominated members from senate of Kerala University for ‘failing in their discharge of duties.”. The move came after the senate failed to nominate a member into selection panel for appointment of next Vice  Chancellor, with current VC Madhadevan Pillai  due to retire end of this month.

The drama came even as the state govt has set in motion  steps to include 2 members into the Selection Panel. The Senate had indeed convened for nomination of a member into the  Panel, however of the 91 members only 15 were in attendance and the session was forced to dissolve for lack of quorum.
