Customs Seize Gold Worth Rs 2 Crores Stashed In Pants and Innerwear : Karipur Airport

Karipur : Authorities at Karipur International Airport seize gold worth Rs 2 crore from three passengers who brought the swag affixed to their innerwears and stitched to the inside of their pants.

The culprits arrested with contraband are : Kozhikode native Muhammad Hanifa who carried 2.2 kg gold in his underwear; Thiruangadi native Ravindran who brought 2.5 kg gold concealed in hidden pockets stitched inside  pants and Malappuram native Abdul Jaleel who carried 355 gms of gold.

 The DRI and Customs received anonymous tip on gold coming smuggled by Air Arabia flight, following which, they heightened  passenger checks to nab the carriers.
