THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The govt has set up an expert committee to examine lockdown that was clamped to stem COVID spread, the prospects of relaxing its restrictions and so forth, in order to determine the future course of action. The committee, with KM Abraham as president, will study various aspects of ongoing shutdown, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday.
A 17-member task force has been put in charge to study impact of lockdown on state’s economy, livelihoods and various other dimensions. The committee will also conduct studies to determine the right conditions under which the withdrawal of lockdown could be initiated.
Meanwhile, 1991 cases against lockdown violations have been registered in the state today. Police placed 1949 people under arrest and took 1477 vehicles into custody.
