Thruvananthapuram : Lok Tantrik Yuvajanta Dal national president Mattavur lodged  complaint with the Chief Justice of India accusing Praful Patel of perpetrating excesses in Lakshadweep.

The complaint alleged that appointing Praful Patel – someone who is accountable for death of Member of Dadra Nagar Haveli Parliament, Mohan Melkari –  as Administrator of Lakshadweep is a dubious move. It is the first time in the history of Lakshadweep that a non-IAS official is posted as the Administrator of the island and on-goings on are destroying the island’s harmony and culture, the Public Interest Litigation(PIL) said.

An atmosphere of insecurity is unleashed upon the island in  stark violation of constitutional provisions. The tribals of Daman and Diu, the fishing community and workers will all  be  uprooted from their traditional livelihoods. Praful Patel is hacking at the culture and life of the islanders and the apex court t should make needful interventions responding to this  PIL, said Salim Mattavur.
