Web Desk(Tvm)Updated: Saturday Nov 7, 2020

Drawing on accomplishments of incumbent  Left government, LDF campaign for upcoming local body elections took off on Friday. The front has by now announced  candidates at  most places  for  the polls.

LDF is reaching out to voters backed by government’s focused efforts that saw the state tide over multiple floods and onslaughts of covid without hampering developmental and welfare projects.  Being brought into public visibility now are : Phase-II of Public Planning projects, Life Mission, Ardram, Harita Keralam Mission and Protecting Public Education System.

The campaign also aims to counter UDF-BJP  efforts by using some media to underplay the government’s achievements - many of which have been historical milestone.

2.5 lakh people who never owned a house were delivered new homes under Life Mission; Subiksha Keralam was started to have state accomplish self-reliance in food sector; Rs 961 crore was spent to build 5000 roads in rural stretches; Community kitchens were set up to ensure no one went hungry in lockdown conditions; covid primary care centres- all these and more  feature among governmental efforts towards wellbeing of its people.

The LDF government saw its projects meet goal despite pandemic conditions and natural disasters and much of the benefits have reached their beneficiaries via local self-government bodies. The front expects a telling victory in response to its developmental  and welfare goals that fare above its election promises. Such  outcome would then become a befitting reply to those seeking to disrupt public wellbeing.
