Idukki: Thoduppuzha Sessions Court on Saturday rejected bail for xix accused in the campus murder of SFI worker and student of Painav Engineering College, Dheeraj.
Incidetntally, Nikil Payli, the 1st accused and Congress Vazhathop Mandalam President, did not approach the court for bail.
Rejected during the day were bail pleas submitted by 2nd accused to the 6th, namely : Youth Congress Iduki Mandalam Vice President Thadinad Idayal Jerin Jojo(22), Idukki Mandalam President Chelppad Thekilkatt Tony Abraham(23), KSU Jilla Gneral Secretary Konnthadi Makav Naniknel Nithin Lukose(25), KSU Jilla Secretary Kattachan Vellayamkudi Uchmakkal Jitin Tomas(Uppal-24_, Youth Congress Jilla General Secretar and Chellappad Puthanpurakkal Soimol Sanna(28).
The hearing of bail pleas concluded Friday. The seventh and eighth accused were allowed bail over lacking direct involvement in the crime. Adv B Sunil Dutt appeared for the prosecution.
