Dheeraj Murder: Court Rejects Release Plea of Two Accused

Idukki :The Idukki Session Court rejected the release plea of two accused in Dheeraj murder case of 2022. The dismissal verdict from District Sessions Court Judge PS Sasikumar, came over pleas submitted by the  seventh accused Jessin Joy(22) of Konnathadi Mullappali and eith accused Alan Baby(25) of Vaillaymkudi Potanani.

Jessin and Alan are charged with  helping accused no. 3- 5 to destroy evidence and hiding their mobile phones and clothes they wore during crime.   Jessin had fetched his Innova car to transport the fourth accused from crime scene. Alan transported the third and fifth accused to Eranulla similarly and provided all assistance. Additionally, Alan would also help the accused men with changing their mobile sets. Both Alan and Jessin were active Youth Congress workers.

Dheeraj was murdered  on 10 January 2022.. Of the eight accused in the case, the first accused Nikhil Paili was granted . The accused from second to eighth are : Jerin Jojo, Jitin Uppumakkal, Tony Thekilakadan, Nitin Lukose, Soimon Sunny, Jassin Joy and Alan Baby.  They are charged under various sections of the IPC for conspiracy, murder, attempt to murder, assault, evidence destruction and concealment of weapons. Idukki DySP Emanuel Paul filed the 1600-page chargesheet bound in six volumes.
