Puthupally : Nikhil Paili has arrest warrant against him in the stabbing-murder of SFI activist Dheeraj, even as he he callously conducts a full-swing election campaign in Puthupally. The warrant was issued after Paili failed repeatedly to to show up in court including when the charges against him were being read out. According to reports, Paili leads the campaign for UDF in Puthupally.
Earlier the UDF candidate Chandy Oomen explained away Paili’s presence saying he had not yet been pronounced guilty. The comment is despite Paili himself confessing to stabbing Dheeraj when questioned by police.
Nikhil Paili was elated to Vice Chairman post in Youth Congress’s Outreach Cell after the murder. Chandy Oomen is National Chairman of the Cell and had released list of its office bearers.

The Dheeraj murder was an extraordinarily gruesome murder, one in which Youth Congress leaders such as Vazhathope Mandalam President Nikhil Paili, Idukki Mandalam Vice President Jerin Jojo, KSU District Secretary Jitin Uppumakall from Kattappana, Idukki Mandalam President Chelachuvad native Tony Thelkilakat and KSU Idukki District General Secretary Kampilikandam Tellithode Nitin Lukose were directly involved.
The remand report states the stabbing was done with intention to kill and further that all accused were equally involved.
