Kannur : Everybody has the right to dissent; However to be saying a closed-door meeting will not be allowed is undemocratic, said Minister MV Govindan. The minister was responding to reporters on the incident of Congress workers disrupting Janapasamaksham SilverLine meeting in Kannur.
Invading a meeting poses law and order problem. There was adequate police protection at the place. Media reports say the Congress works said they were doing KPCC President K Sudhakaran’s bidding. Sudhakaran has already said wrongdoers shall be shielded by his party, said the minister. K-Rail does not need BJP approval. There exists consent from the Union Railway Ministry for matters including land acquisition. DPR will be amended with practical alterations. There will be no compromise in taking forth the project, the minister said.
