Kozhikode : BJP leaders claimed havala cash carrier Dharmaraj had delivered money at venues in constituencies the party State President K Surendran contested from. The district manadalam office bearers demanded probe into Dharmarajan’s visits at Manjeswaram and Konni and slammed Surendran’s for links to havala money. They unleashed their criticisms before state office bearers who had reached the constituencies to investigate why the party had lost polls there.
State vice president AN Radhakrishnan and BJP Spokesperson Adv NK Narayanan Namboothiri collected findings on the defeat in their 3-day visit to each constituency. The office bearers mainly criticized Surendran over his connection with Dharmarajan and kicked up the question if the State Committee known of entrusting election funds with a person unassociated with BJP.
At no point has Surendran denied knowing Dharmarajan ever since the Kodakkara incident made news. On their part, Surendran faction criticised State General Secretary MT Ramesh putting all blame for loss in Kozhikode on him. According to the faction members, fielding of District President VK Sajeevan at Kunnamangalam and candidate selection at Perambra as chief factors that led to the debacle.
