Kalpetta: No kind of disaster tourism will be encouraged, clarified Tourism Minister PA Mohamed There are some who arrive for sole purpose of having a firsthand view and feel of disaster-struck terrain. That’s dark tourism and will not be allowed at any cost. Officials are adopting strict stand in this regard and people are expected to be cooperative.
The whole world is in one mind with the ongoing rescue operations in Wayanad. That’s the greatest of all integrity. However, there’s no need to cram in with physical presence in the disaster zone. True, majority individuals come out of goodness of their hearts. However, crowding poses its own kind of strain and challenges in the region. People should consider this and act optimally.
People’s representatives and other responsible or relevant people have a business to be there. They are lodged in the region to assess scenarios and deliver useful suggestions or valuable information. But that does not mean, people have to arrive there for no rhyme or reason, the Minister said.
