Today is national Doctors’ Day. At a time when the world is grappling with unprecedented pandemic, the significance of this day gets greater. We set aside this day to offer our respects to the medical fraternity that works by day and night to keep our race alive and safe.
Doctors in Kerala play the crucial role in mitigating Covid-19 in the state. Doctors from all specialisations work unceasingly doing justice to the trust that community has rested in their hands. I hereby mark my respects for the fraternity both on behalf of government and its people.
Doctors’ day is celebrated in honour of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who represented the best of his profession at a critical time in India’s modern history. Now, in this time of the dreadful pandemic, let us stand untied and endeavour side-by-side in our way forward.
