New Delhi : One of the earliest English news presenters on Doordarshan, Gitanjali Aiyar, passed away Wednesday, 7 June. She was 71.
Gitanjali joined Doordarshan in 1971 and received the Best Anchor award four times in her 3-decade-long career.
Gitanjali graduated from Kolkata’s Loretto College and held diploma from National School of Drama. Se was a news reader at All India Radio before reading news on TV.
