kannur : The Kannur University Vice Chancellor Gopinath Raveendran expressed doubts if there exist other interests behind Governor’;s demand of VC resignations. The VC further said, he was undecided on what reply to give against the show-cause notice issued by Raj Bhavan. Those who appointed me is better positioned to be answering that., said Gopinath Raveendran, adding that the appointment was made at a time when he was not t in Kerala.
Persons appointed as Vice Chancellor in the past would sometimes lack even basic qualification stipulated by the UGC. That’s not the case today. It remains to be decided if it’s university rules or that of UGC that must prevail, the VC told reporters.
