Malappuram : The police have cracked down once again on drug peddling in Malappuram. Arrested in the incident are Muhammad Shafi(26) and Kallengal Moideen(25) with possession of 30 gms of MDMA.
The search followed tip to Malappuram District Police Chief S Sujith that synthetic drugs from Bengaluru and Goa are smuggled into the state and widely distributed among young population. Retailers of the gang operate in Cherplasserry and Ottapalam region. Illegal drugs bought wholesale from outside sate are sold in small batches in greed of quick big money.
The operation today was headed by Perinthalmanna DYSP M Santhosh Kumar and Makadaa CI U. K. Shajahan. Recovered drugs weighed 29.81 gm in quantity.
