DYFI Cadres' Murders : 4 Congress Workers Arrested

Thiruvananthapuram : The police arrested four Congress workers in connection with the double murders of DYFI workers late Sunday night on Onam eve. Those is custody  have been identified as Shajith, Najeeb, Ajith and Sathi. All the four allegedly took part in the murder conspiracy and helped with its execution.

Around 12.30 am of Sunday night, Haqh Muhammad(24) and Mithiraj(30)  were on their way to  latter’s home , when the goons accosted their bike and hacked them on their faces and chest multiple times, killing them on the sport. The killings were reportedly carried out by  a six-member gang of Congress workers who wielded swords and knife for their pre-meditated  crime.

The FIR recorded the suspects as Congress workers after ascertaining their Youth Congress backgrounds. UDF  has called for a hartal in Vembayam today.

Mithiraj was a member of DYFI’s Thembalode unit while Haq was unit president of DYDI Kallinganmukham unit and member of Kallinganmukham branch. CPI(M) observed black day on Monday in protest of the slaying.
