Kozhikode : “Hridyapoorvam” - a DYFI scheme that assures lunch at noon for patients and their bystanders at hospital - took off at Kozhikode Medical College on Sunday. The launch, under the aegis of DYFI District Committee, was inaugurated by State Secretary AA Rahim.
Meals for the inaugural day were arranged for by Kozhikode Chelavoor Area Committee in Kozhikode Town Block. District Secretary V Wasif commenced the food collection drive for the scheme. Packed lunches will get collected from roughly 500 households each day by various local committees and their branches in turns and transported to the Medical College before lunch time.
Speakers at the inaugural included State Treasurer SK Sajeesh, Medical College Principal Dr. Rajendran, Superintendent Dr. Shreejan, DYFI State Caommittee member P Sheejith, TK Suresh, District Joint Secretary K Arun, Pinky Pramod and Hadh Khan. DYFI District President Adv LJ Ligeesh presided over the event. Secretary V Wasif delivered the welcome note and Treasurer OC Shaju the vote of thanks.
The DYFI lunch guarantying scheme is already operational at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College since 3 years with thousands of free meals distributed each noon to patients and their bystanders there.
