Thiruvananthapuram : Police are looking out for an absconding Congress panchayat member Gopan for his role in the killings of two DYFI members in Venjaramoodu, on the eve of Onam. The assailants had called up Gopan - a Thalayil ward member - to inform of the murders as soon as they were committed, after which he went into hiding. Police conducted a search of his home last evening too.
Meanwhile, police are preparing to remand more people in the case. On Tuesday, police arrested prime accused Sajeev Sanal and Preeja - the woman who helped culprits hide and flee the district shortly after the crime. In all, four alleged culprits were obtained in remand yesterday. Police are widening their search to nab more persons involved in the murder conspiracy including two local INTUC leaders, Unni and Anzar.
