Thiruvananthapuram : Police prepare to book case against ED officials on complaint from Swapna Suresh of her being pressured to give testimony against Chief Minister in the gold smuggling case. The Additional Home Secretary has approached Director General of Prosecution(DGP) for legal advice on the matter. The move comes after Crime Branch verified the authenticity and content of the voice recording. The special legal advice is owing the the fact that the post of an ED Director is a quasi-judicial one. Based on advice received, police will contemplate on booking officials at ED including DySP Radhakrishnan.
Audio clip had surfaced early on where Swpana is heard talking about tremendous ED pressure to testify against CM. To the probing Crime Branch, Swapna affirmed the voice on the clip as her own. During the probe, four policewomen posted for Swpana’s security were also found coercing her to testify against CM. These women cops were also present along with ED officials in their interrogation of Swapna.
