Kozhikode: During ED interrogation on Monday lasting six hours, KM Shaji’s wife said all their wealth and property dealings were done by the MLA and that she was unaware of sources to money that went to construction of their palatial house and all other properties including those exclusively on her name.
She has no job or income of her own, said Asha. All properties existing by her name were bought by her MLA husband, she told ED. The questioning that began 10 am Monday morning stretched into night up to 9 pm. She refused to have food, though officials asked her to.
There is landed property by Asha’s name at three different locations apart from one plot she owned jointly with Shaji. She produced documents pertaining to the purchases during the questioning, but drew a blank when asked where all the money came from.
Shaji is due to be grilled today, Tuesday, after which, the officials will summon Asha again if necessary.
