THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday extended greetings to Malayalis here and around the world on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. In his message, CM said “ The auspicious festival Eid-ul-Fitr comes at a time when the world is passing through unprecedented misery and crisis. The day spells joy for those who have fasted imbibing Quran message that “Forbearance is Life” . Yet, under current circumstances, the customary celebration would not be possible in any part of the world. It is integral to Eid and a pious deed for Muslims to be gathering at Mosque for mass prayers on this occasion.
However the prayers this time are to be offered at one’s home only - a painful decision conveyed to all believers by leaders of Muslim organisations, in the interest of broader health and safety concerns of the society, amid covid pandemic. Eid-ul-Fitr renders message of equality, tolerance and repentance and greetings to all those who bask in that enlightenment. My heartiest wishes to all.”
