Kochi : Veteran actress KPAC Lalita has passed away. She was 74. The end came at her son Sidharth's house in Tripunitura in Kochi. KPAC Lilita was under treatment for quite some time now.
Actress Lalita was daughter of Anantan Nair and Bhargaviamma, natives of Ramapuram’s Kadakkal. She was born on 10 March, 1947 in Edayaranmula. The actress originally bore the name Maheswari, named after deity her parents offered bhajans to for birth of a child. Lalita was fond of dancing since early childhood days and gave her first stage performance at Ramapuram school.
Lalita started off as singer at the famous KPAC drama troupe before playing notable theatre roles and then debuting into films to became household name over the decades. Lalita has acted in over 550 films and is recipient to several honours including the national award for best supporting actor and four state awards.
She was married to renowned director Late Bharathan. Children : Daughter Sreekutty and actor-director son Sidharth Bharathan
