Junior doctor Najma,  who went on offense against Ernakulam Medical College flip-flopped  on  allegations. On reporting for work on Thursday, Dr. Najma told waiting media that had several political parties and religious organisations approached her after the controversy.  ‘I do not wish to be pawn to either,” she said.

“I never said the hospital were killing fields. Nor did I say the govt failed to do something. Scores have left here  fit and full recovered. I spoke on two cases only.  It should not be distorted adding in  politics and religion to create a scary ambience for patients. I  have no threats from any quarters and need no special protection,”  said Najma.

The junior doctor had forwarded Hibi Eden’s proclamation following nursing officer Jalajakumari’s controversial clip, to the RMO. Najma also followed-up on that with a message claiming she had witnessed the  dislocated facemask on the deceased patient herself.  In her televised appearances, the junior doctor repeated that claim. However,  the channels soon faltered  on their broadcast, when confronted with questions like : What measures the junior doctor take on seeing the fatal lapse?  Did she instruct corrective steps? Dis she inform senior doctors?/ etc.

Dr. Najama, Daughter of former DCC member

Junior doctor, Dr Najma Salim - who attempted to berate  covid mitigation efforts and health-workers lauded as role model - is  member of a deep-rooted Congress family.

She is  daughter of former DCC member  Papamkulangara  Salim who served at Thazhva  Panchayat. and was always active in party activities at her village. As a medical student, Najma was an active KSU member. It is this Congress affiliation that fuelled   her to turn against the state’s  health system, claimed her fellow villagers.
