Thiruvananthapuram : Police register case in the complaint against KSU state convener Anzil Jalil of fabricating fake degree certificate. The Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment police booked the case on charges of forgery and cheating, following complaint filed by the Registrar of Kerala University with the State DGP.
Backdrop : The BCom degree certificate held by Anzil was never issued by Kerala University though it was made out to appear so. The degree certificate Anzil fabricated bears signature of VC who did not in office during the relevant academic years namely 2013 - 2016. Also the registration certificates differed from starting digits issued by the university in each of those three years. The University has demanded in-depth investigation into the case.
