Thrissur : A family brawl over jackfruit in Thrissur’s Avinissery escalaed into arson. Arrested for setting fire to his family home is 46-year-old Sajesh living with his parents and two daughters. His wife is a Gulf employee.
On Sunday night, Shajesh’s borther-in-law brought in a jackfruit for the family. The gift was not well received and Shajesh got into argument with sister’s husband over the jackfuit. Soon the quarrels turned physical. Shajesh later continued to vent his irk with his father. Shajesh lost control of his rage and started a fire as if to burn the house down.
Neighbours noticed flames billowing and alerted the police. A Fire tender reached the spot and put out the fire. The flames by then had consumed a lot of household belongings including school text books and an SSLC exam hall ticket of Shajesh’s daughters.
Shajesh has been arrested and sent into remand.
