Nida, who arrived in Nagpur to participated in National Cycle Polo Championship, died yesterday. The death must be probed thoroughly and on urgent basis, said AM Arif in his notice. The MP yesterday wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde with the same demand of urgent and thorough investigations.
MLA H Salam reached Nida’s family home to offer condolences and also informed the members that the State Government sent a letter to Maharashtra government seeking detailed inquiry. The MLA had written to Eknath Shinde and MP Arif soon after the news of Nida’s death broke.
The MP protested against National Federation for failing to provide accommodation and food facility for the sports girl. Nidas grew ill after consuming food she had purchased from outside. There is also allegation that Nidas did not receive adequate medical care, though admitted to Krishna Hospital in Nagpur after vomiting.
