Cheruvathoor : Congress meeting in Cheruvathoor turned dramatic after arguments escalated into physical fight. The clash took place at Mandala Committee meeting while debating on corruption.
One side alleged there was corruption in construction of Kadankode Mandala Committee office involving former Mandalam officer bearer who is also the te Neeleswaram Block Committee Vice President and Construction Committee Convener. The note sparked beginning of heated exchanges. A section of members questioned the Convener’s claim that the amount due towards his son’s appointment at co-operative bank was paid into the building fund.
Later, a ban to raising question was announced, triggering members to split and confront one another. A few boycotted the meeting and locked up leaders inside a room. The lock was later broken to free the men.
