Kasaragod : BJP men take to streets fighting one another in Kasaragod. The district secretary of Sahkar Bharati Employees Sangh – BJP’s wing for cooperative sector , Praveen Kodoth, was surrounded by gang of BMS men who beat him up brutally. Kasaragod Town police have registered case in the incident.
The attackers belong to BMS faction steered by Adv P Muraleedharan, Praveen told the police, adding that, the violence took place last Saturday when he arrived to attend a district meeting of Bharati Employees Sangh. Incidentally, Muraleedharan is brother of BJP’s state committee member P . Ramesh who opposes BJP District President K Sreekanth and District General Secretary Sudhama Gosada.
Muraleedharan was put on suspension for beating up Sudama Gosada at the the party's District Committee meeting, Praveen Kodoth, who is also VHP leader, complained to the district leadership that while the assailants thrashed hm close to the Kasaragod Town Co-op Bank, Ramesh who was present at the scene simply looked on.
Attack over money collection
The Sahkar Bharathi Emloyees’ Sangh is an association of pro-BJP staffers of cooperative societies. It claims a strength of roughly 400 members and secured second position in the elections for Cooperative Unions in the circle. The association was formed after breaking away from pro-Congress organisation in 2016.
BMS has under it an organisation titled Cooperative Employees’ Sangh. However, it is limited to just one unit Kasaragod Town Cooperative Bank, claims opposition faction.
District leadership in fear from threat
The leaders of both associations flung fierce accusations at one another on social media group, in connection with fund collection. Amid the melee, threats made to Praveen Kandoth's life. The current thrashing attack comes close to that threat and was allegedly carried out with full knowledge of BJP District le4adership and RSS in Perala.
Praveen is employee at Kambadaje Co-operative Bank, where BJP State Committee member Sanjeev Shetty is the president and Sudama Gosada, who sides with district president K Shreekanth, is the director. Accusation is rife among party men that BJP and RSS leaderships are unnerved by BMS’s spree of assaults and threats.
