Thiruvananthapuram/New Delhi : Fight is fierce over DCC president selection across five districts even as Congress in Delhi is hasting to seal final selection. Arguments are particularly acutel in districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Palakkad and although lists in nine districts have settled on one name each, leadership fears the situation to turn riotous once the list is revealed.
KPCC President, K Sudhakaran, who returned to Delhi once more, held talks with Congress acting secretary KC Venugopal following which, he addressed a press conference claiming all distaricts have managed to settle on singe name for thier post and further that the list has been handed over to High Command for finalisation. However that claim fused after AICC General Secretary Tariq Anwar denied such consensus. The list forwarded by Sudhakaran bears more than one nomination in five districts and High Command will take the final call in their matter, he said. Incidentally, a common agreement came about in nine districts after the groups and leaders split numbers between themselves.
According to sources, there exists difference of opinion on names between K Sudhakaran, KC Venugopal and VD Satheesan too - all of who blatantly sideline Oomen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala.
Arguments in 5 Districts
