Thiruvananthapuram : The first ship halting at Vizhinjam International Port will arrive on 15 October, said Minister Ahammad Devarkovil The vessel was slated to arrive on the 5th but lagged owing to traveling at only 3.4 nautical miles an hour because of tycoon conditions in the seas of Shanghai, Vietnam and Singapore. The Chief Minister and Union Shipping Minister will be present at the port’s maiden ship arrival, said Minister Devarkovil.
The ship had left China shores as per original schedule on 31st of August. However, the pace was slowdown on way owing to unfavourable weather conditions. The ship is scheduled to halt at Mudra port in Gujarat. The ship passed Vizhinjam waters yesterday heading for Mudra and is due to arrive at Vizhinjam port on the 15th of October, Sunday, the minister said.
