Thrissur : Over 20 persons, including children, sought medical attention following food poisoning during train journey. Those affected are members of a group returning from darshan at Mookambika. Five were admitted to hospital and others sent away after preliminary medications.
Those that became hospitalised were Thiruvananthapuram natives Sreekutty(29), her daughter Diya(4) and three other children Avanthika(9), Niranjana(4) and Nivedya(9). They were admitted at 12.30 Monday afternoon and discharged this morning.
The group ate at a restaurant in Uddupi Sunday morning then later from a railway canteen around 7 in the evening. Around 8 pm, some developed nausea and vomiting. Following illness, the group was made to alight at Thrissur station and admitted to General Hospital there.
